A giant panda has given birth to a healthy cub in Austria — the second in just three years.

The Schoenbrunn Zoo said Tuesday the newborn measures between 4 to 5 inches and weighs about 3.5 ounces.

The zoo says that keepers monitoring the panda enclosure first discovered the newcomer Monday afternoon when they heard squeaking in an area to which mother Yang Yang had retreated.

The unnamed cub, whose gender has yet to be determined, shares the same birthday as its sibling Fu Long, who charmed his way into the hearts of Austrians before leaving for the Bifengxia panda base in China last year.

Approximately 1,600 giant pandas live in the wild, according to the World Wide Fund for Nature.
