An man was accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend and of trying to persuade her to come back to him by using a Facebook account he created in the name of another ex-girlfriend he raped last year.
Travis Allen Davis, 23, of New Castle, Indiana, was arrested by police last week as he slept in a car outside his ex-girlfriend's home in Delmont, Pennsylvania, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east of Pittsburgh. Authorities said he was armed with a gun and a box-cutter.
Davis created a Facebook profile in the name of another ex-girlfriend, a woman he had raped in Ohio, and he used the account to contact the Pennsylvania woman, authorities said.
Police contend Davis — pretending to be the Ohio woman — threatened to send sexually explicit images of him having sex with the Pennsylvania woman to her current boyfriend if she did not move back to Indiana "and pretend she wanted to be with Davis," Delmont police said in a criminal complaint.
Davis also allegedly sent the Pennsylvania woman a video of him having sex with her. The woman "never knew that this video was filmed in the first place and obviously never gave consent to send the video to anyone," the complaint said.
Davis has pleaded not guilty and remained jailed Wednesday on the Pennsylvania charges.
His attorney, Matthew Schimizzi, did not immediately return a message left Wednesday by The Associated Press. Schimizzi has said he intends to prove his client's innocence.
Davis pleaded guilty to rape in Ohio earlier this month and is scheduled to be sentenced for that crime on Oct. 5, according to online court records. He was armed when he broke into the Ohio woman's home last year, handcuffing and then raping her.
Export District Judge Charles Conway on Tuesday ordered Davis to undergo a mental health evaluation and raised his bail from $10,000 to $75,000 over Schimizzi's objection. Conway also postponed a preliminary hearing on stalking, transmitting obscene images, loitering, criminal coercion and other charges until Sept. 7.
County prosecutors wanted the case delayed two more weeks to allow time for police crime lab reports and the mental evaluation.
