An 80-year-old man won a

Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5

prize of $370,201.50 at his local Sheetz convenience store in Moon Township.

Joined on Tuesday morning by Marianne, his wife of 50 years, Elmer Schaefer described how the excitement slowly built as he checked his $1 ticket after the Aug. 20 drawing.

"Well, you know, you can't look at the numbers and know that you've got all five. You've got to go each one at a time," Schaefer said. "So I started with the first one -- 6 -- and then I got the second one -- 9 -- and I said, 'Good, I got my dollar back.' Then I got the third one -- 17 -- and said, 'Now I'm looking at 10 bucks.' And then I got the fourth one and said, 'Wow, that could be a couple of hundred.' And then I got the fifth, and I said, 'Oh my gosh, Marianne, we just got all five numbers.'"

Schaefer was presented with a ceremonial oversize check Tuesday at the store on University Boulevard where he bought his winning ticket.

He said he and his wife plan to give some of the money to charities, churches and their two children.

The Schaefers said they also want to spend some of the dough on home improvements.
