Winter storm warning issued for region

A winter storm is gathering strength and is moving towards our area. The heaviest snowfall is expected to the south, over the Catskills.

A winter storm will put 4 to 8 inches of snow on the ground by Wednesday morning in much of the area.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 10 AM Wednesday.Snow will fall at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour Tuesday night, but heavy snowfall will not last more than a few hours.Then light snow will fall through much of Wednesday morning.

The greatest snowfall amounts will be recorded in the Catskills and the Berskshires where 6 to 13 inches should fall.

Areas north of Albany will also receive snow though the further north you get the less snow you will find.

Schodack, no on-street parking from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 7 p.m. Wednesday.
