Troy police said one person has been charged and another is still on the run after a violent robbery at Somerset Mall on Sunday.

Police said a man and woman were walking out of True Religion when two men who were sitting nearby on a bench suddenly confronted them. One of the men grabbed the $1,800 Cartier sunglasses off the victim’s face and another took out a revolver from his pants pocket, police said. He also grabbed the woman’s purse and the bag of clothes she had just purchased from the store, police said.

The victims chased the two men, but lost sight of one of them.

Police said the victims were able to describe seeing one of their attacker flee in a white van, which was found near Lakeview and Big Beaver.

Police said the van’s driver was taken into custody after a “brief scuffle” and that officers found a loaded revolver, the victim’s purse and her bag in the van.

The eyeglasses were broken during the confrontation.

The van’s driver has been identified as 18-year-old Kereim Jwron Robertson of Detroit.

He has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, felony firearm and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

The other man involved has not been caught.
