Presumably, most consumers of the now-famous wine nicknamed "two buck chuck" buy it for its affordable price.

But now, it has the endorsement of some full-fledged wine snobs.

Charles Shaw wine is carried exclusively by the Trader Joe's chain and sells at most stores for only $1.99 a bottle.

Probably no one was more surprised than the judges when Chuck made it to the finals of the International Eastern Wine Competition.

It is one of only 53 wines from a field of more than 2,000.
