Q: What is the charity you support?

Felita: I'm a proud supporter of the Girl Scouts of Greater New York. They're doing an amazing job of preparing New York girls of all boroughs and backgrounds to become the city's leaders of tomorrow.

Q: How did you become involved?

Felita: This year, I was asked to be one of the Women of Distinction Honorees.

I'm very excited to be recognized alongside these other four extraordinary women, and I hope all of us will inspire girls to see that they can reach any height of leadership with drive, talent, and ingenuity.

Q: Why is this organization important to you?

Felita: The Girl Scouts is important to me because their mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. I have a daughter, so this mission is very close to my heart.

The role of women has changed dramatically. In the United States, women account for over 50% of the population, yet a major gender gap remains that increases as you go higher up the corporate ladder. Girls need positive role models from women who are leaders across all industries.

Q: What is the nicest thing someone has done for you?

Felita: When I reflect on the nicest thing someone has ever done for me, several memories come to mind. The most important is the unconditional love that I receive from my daughter, Kennedy.
