Police on Wednesday identified three adults and a child who were killed in a house explosion in rural Kentucky the day before.

Kentucky State Police identified the victims as Mitchell Coomer, 60; his wife, Lori Coomer, 52; their 1-year-old granddaughter Kinley Rodgers; and Steven A. Keltner, 32. Official confirmation of is not expected until DNA tests come back next week, police said.

The house near Columbia exploded Tuesday afternoon, rattling neighboring homes and leaving it difficult for investigators to sift through the wreckage.

A man in the basement of the home survived the blast with only minor injuries, police said. Jason Coomer, 34, the son of Mitchell Coomer, was in the basement on the opposite side of where the explosion is believed to have occurred, police said.

The cause of the blast is still under investigation, police said.
