A burglar was caught sleeping on the job when a resident of the home he was allegedly robbing found him taking a snooze on her couch, police said.

The victim discovered the man in her Florida home shortly after waking up about 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Sarasota police department. “He was sleeping there and covered with all of my blankets and with the pillows and everything” she told NBC Affiliate WFLA.

The suspect apologized when confronted about what he was doing in the house and fled when the woman called police. She told responding officers that her wallet, driver’s license, and credit cards were missing and claimed the suspect accessed the home through a door she left unlocked.

Authorities say they found 29-year-old Timothy Bontrager walking in the neighborhood a short time later and arrested him after he was identified by the victim. He is currently being held in the Sarasota County Jail on $25,000 bail.
