Edwards says he's responsible for his 'sins'

UPDATE:  Ex-presidential candidate John Edwards thanked jurors and his family after a mistrial was declared in his campaign corruption trial and says he is responsible for his sins.

Edwards speaking on the courthouse steps today also choked up when speaking of his 4-year-old daughter whom he conceived with his mistress while running for president.

Edward also said he believes he did nothing illegal, but that he did an "awful, awful lot" that was wrong and that no one else wasresponsible for his sins but him.

Edwards was acquitted on one charge of campaign finance fraudand a mistrial was declared on five other counts.

The month-long trial exposed a sordid sex scandal that dashedEdwards' White House aspirations in 2008.

Ed will have more on the Edwards trial tonight on The Ed Show at 8pET on MSNBC with Mike Papantonio, host of The Ring of Fire radio show.
