Ooh la la! There's a new tablet-like layout hiding in your Gmail settings! It looks rather gorgeous and you can try it out today.
It's no coincidence that the Preview Pane Gmail layout resembles the one you might see on your tablet device, mind you. The folks at Google make it no secret that there's a link between the two.
That little detail aside, here's how to give the new layout a trial run:
- Open up your Gmail settings
- Click on the "Labs" tab
- Enable "Preview Pane"
- Go back to your inbox and look for a toggle button in the top right corner of your message list
- Switch back and forth between layouts
It's that easy! If you don't like the layout, just head back to the "Labs" settings and disable the "Preview Pane" once again.
