Red-carpet review: Style isn't black and white

We're going bicoastal for today's version of the red-carpet review and matching two actresses from opposing film events in New York and Los Angeles.

Julianne Moore, left, stepped out for a party celebrating the release of "The Big Lebowski" Blue-Ray along with a reunion of the stars of the film at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Tuesday.

Zooey Deschanel was on the other side of the country for the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, "Our Idiot Brother."

Both stars chose black and white ensembles that featured a little extra flair around the neck. Deschanel's ruffled neckline was even matched at the waist, while Moore went for more with her large bow-tied scarf.

So let's hear it. Does either look do it for you or do they both get a pass or fail? Feel free to discuss it all here or on Facebook.
