The Austrian man whose stolen passport was used by an Iranian teen to board the missing Malaysia Airlines jet said he was surprised when police arrived at his door.

"Police rang my doorbell on Saturday," Christian Kozel told Austria's Oesterreich magazine. "I thought something had happened with the car. It obviously made him happy that I am healthy and that I am doing well."

Kozel said that thieves had stolen his carry-on bag on the way to the airport in Phuket, Thailand.

“It was most likely someone from the taxi crew, they were suspicious,” the 60-year-old retired masseur told Oesterreich magazine.

Kozel admitted he was “tired and not concentrating” when it was stolen.
