An armed gunman burst into a home early Tuesday and kidnapped a 2-year-old boy and 11-month-old girl, police said. The children were later recovered by police.
Television video showed the children being held by Phoenix police officers. The children appeared to be fine.
A group of armed men forcibly entered a home and took the children, police said.
Sgt. Andy Hill said a witness heard the four men yelling outside the west Phoenix home that they were the police.
Investigators think the case may have initially been an attempted robbery and don't believe the mother of the children knew the suspects.
Police said the children were taken away in a white car with dark, tinted windows.
No arrests have been made.
