Debbie Sterling is the founder and CEO of GoldieBlox, a toy company she founded to get little girls to love engineering just as much as she does. The Stanford graduate (she has a degree in mechanical engineering and product design) is on a mission to help narrow the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math.
GoldieBlox is a story book and a construction kit combined, starring Goldie, the girl inventor, who, in collaboration with her animal friends, tackles engineering challenges. It’s the toy Sterling wishes she had when she was growing up, and she says the enthusiastic response from fans worldwide has been the most rewarding part of launching the company.
“There's nothing better than hearing from girls across the globe who tell me how much they love building along with Goldie and how they are inspired to build even more,” says Sterling who has received an outpouring of letters, photos and videos from fans.
Here, Sterling shares the apps that keep her travel plans in check and her running schedule on track.
This is my go-to when I'm training for a race, I've tried a bunch of running apps and it's my favorite. Running is the best thing I can do to clear my mind and get in a good creative space.
I use it constantly to get around when I’m traveling.
I travel a lot, and TripIt keeps everything neatly organized in one place.
It’s a very simple way to organize and prioritize all the tasks I need to do, plus it's very satisfying to check off the box when you complete something.
I’m addicted to checking our web sales, traffic and keyword search terms.
