It's always been easy to buy presents for the travelers in your life: even a good book comes in handy on an airplane. It's never been this fun though--this season, some of the gadgets, suitcases and accessories available for frequent fliers are cool enough to plan an entire trip around.

The StreetPilot 2730 by Garmin (nasdaq: GRMN - news - people )is a road-tripper's dream come true, incorporating the latest local traffic data (via satellite) with 150 XM radio and weather channels, all your MP3s and even GPS technology, which offers voice prompts to get you to your destination, whether that's a meeting in a foreign city or grandma's for Christmas lunch. You get all that for $1,300 (XM subscription is extra).

If arriving in old-fashioned style is more your thing, consider the Ebano Intrecciato suitcases from Bottega Veneta, which start at $4,700 and are infinitely more tasteful than Samsonite. Plane reading gets an upgrade, too: Louis Vuitton's European city guides are out in their seventh edition, encompassing hot spots in 30 cities including Biarritz, Ljubljana and Valencia, which were just added this year. The set of nine guides is available in French and English and costs $83.

And while it's all very well to wrap a tiny box and hide it under the tree, there's a lot to be said for gifts that can't be wrapped, like a ten-day tour of some of Ireland's best golf courses, including tickets to the 36th Ryder Cup, offered through PerryGolf, a full-service tour operator dedicated to golf with offices in Atlanta, Ga. and Helensburgh, Scotland. Prices start at $7,810, excluding airfare.
