The presidential campaign trail is leading some Democratic candidates back to Las Vegas this weekend. Their first appearance is Friday in front of thousands of members of the Culinary Workers Union.

Friday's rally begins at 6 pm. The Culinary Workers Union is one of the biggest unions in town with roughly 60,000 members. They include chefs, maids, waiters and cocktail waitresses, just to name a few.

This is one of the bigger rallies for Democratic presidential candidates here in Las Vegas since campaigning began, so the set up is quite elaborate. It includes a huge stage with two JumboTron monitors.

Two of the big name candidates appearing are senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. You might say it's perfect timing for both the candidates and union members. The Culinary Workers Union is negotiating for a new contract for casino workers on the Strip and Downtown.

Friday's event is not open to the public, only members of the Culinary Workers Union. Two other candidates attending include New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd.

The candidates will also be appearing Saturday morning at the UNLV campus. They'll speak at a forum on health care and be joined by three other presidential candidates including Senator John Edwards.

As for the Republican Party, its next big event will be Thursday, April 19. Senator John McCain is the guest speaker. It'll be a fundraiser for the Clark County Republican Party.

Friday's event costs $125 per person.
