Northrop Grumman Awarded Task Order for Army Battle Command System Support Team

HERNDON, Va., Sept. 27, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The State of Kansas U.S. Property and Finance Office has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a task order to provide staff to support the Army National Guard Battle Command Training Center (BCTC) in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

The Army Battle Command System Support Team (ABCS-ST) contract has a total potential value of nearly $13 million with one base year and four one-year options.

Northrop Grumman will provide the team to develop and provide instruction, manage ABCS software and hardware for the BCTC, manage ABCS software configuration, networking, testing and licensing, provide field training support, and provide website support and development. Northrop Grumman has operated as the contractor for ABCS-ST since 1999.

Work by the ABCS-ST involves a mobile team of 15 people training National Guard units at the BCTC in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., as well as throughout the United States, Alaska and Hawaii. The program has received nearly 300 commendations, including commander's coins and certificates of appreciation from units it has supported.
