A fire was still burning Monday at a central Florida hotel, a day it erupted at the Vacation Lodge Maingate in Kissimmee, about two miles from Disney's Animal Kingdom theme.

More than 100 displaced motel guests were evacuated Sunday night from the 430-room site and are now staying in a temporary shelter at a nearby high school, officials told Tampa Bay Online reported.

Television news footage showed massive flames tearing through a wing of the hotel. The fire burned throughout the night and firefighter crews from several counties were still battling the blaze on Monday morning, officials said.

The fire started last night in one of the motel rooms and then spread to five others, causing the roof to collapse, the Osceola County Fire Rescue said, according to TBO.

No major injuries or deaths have been reported, but six motel guests were taken to Celebration Hospital with minor injuries. Two firefighters were also hospitalized.
