John Cho Preps Return to TV in USA Network's 'Connoisseur'

The USA Network is developing an hour-long con drama called 'Connoisseur.' It will star John Cho, according to an exclusive report from Variety.

The USA Network is developing an hour-long drama starring John Cho, according to a report from Variety. The show, called “Connoisseur,” follows Cho’s character Clay Park, a con artist who swindles money from high society by selling fake wine, according to the publication. As his racket grows larger, he enters a partnership with organized crime, landing him in the attention of the FBI. While all of this is happening, Cho’s character will also discover the tragic story of what splintered his family in Korea.

The role will be Cho's return to the television screen. Recently portraying Hikaru Sulu in “Star Trek Beyond,” Cho had significant roles on ABC’s “FlashForward” and Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow” before portraying the main character’s love interest on ABC’s “Selfie.”

Cho will also act as an executive producer for the series, marking his first role in production, according to Variety. Joining Cho on the production team are “Hand of God” creator Ben Watkins and Gary Lundy, who developed the concept of the show. USA Network has bought a script for the series, but a release date has yet to be announced.
