A head-on collision left six people dead and another three injured in Tennessee Thursday night, according to the highway patrol.
A man driving northbound on U.S. Highway 411 crossed into the southbound lane and struck a minivan carrying eight people about 10 p.m. in Blount County, Lt. Don Boshers told NBC News. Five occupants of the southbound vehicle were killed including the driver, another adult female, two children, and an infant. Three others were injured with one listed in critical condition, Boshers added.
The driver of the other vehicle — an Isuzu Rodeo — also died on the scene. Authorities did not immediately release the identities of those involved.
