The FDA faces new calls for accountability a day after they struck an agreement with Abbott Nutrition to reopen its Michigan formula facility within two weeks. House Democrats are proposing $28 million in emergency funding for the FDA to restore formula supply and increase staff for inspections. The FDA has also increased flexibility to import formulas from certain European countries that have similar safety inspections to the U.S. May 17, 2022
