Siri Reserves Some Answers for Apple Music Subscribers Only

It seems Siri is now holding back some answers, only providing certain information to those users who pay for Apple Music.

Siri, the digital assistant found on Apple's iOS devices, has become a familiar presence for many, and a prompt (sometimes even mischievous) answer to questions you ask it has always been forthcoming. But it seems Siri is now holding back some answers, only providing certain information to those users who pay for Apple Music.

This behavior was first spotted by Pandora co-creator Tom Conrad, who tweeted it in surprise:

NBC News confirmed this response appears when asking about music charts.

Of course, music charts are in fact part of the Apple Music app, so it's not that strange that Siri might not have instant access to that info — but ordinarily that information would simply be looked up by other means, as when you ask the half-life of plutonium or what the weather's like in Barcelona.

Strangely, that's just what happens if you ask the question a bit differently, suggesting it may only be a bug and not a deliberate omission. For example:
