The disappearance of Keila Freeman continues to grow more puzzling as the days now turn to a week since she was last seen.

Keila, 29, and a mother of two, was reportedly last seen in the early hours of Tuesday, September 6 at her home in the Hickory Hill neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee.

According to a police affidavit obtained by NBC affiliate WMC, Keila’s husband, Randall Freeman, told investigators he last saw his wife around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday when she arrived home. But after pulling her car into the garage, she did not come inside.

It was around 6:00 a.m. when he called Keila’s mother saying he couldn’t locate her. When she arrived at the Freeman home, Keila’s mother found her daughter’s keys still in the ignition of the car and her purse on the coffee table inside.

The jeans Keila had reportedly been wearing were found on the floor, her debit card in one of the pockets, according to the affidavit.

In a twist police say is unrelated, Keila’s husband Randall has since been charged with arson. One day before his wife vanished, Randall is reportedly seen on security video throwing a flaming object into the home of a family of five about a mile and a half from his and his wife’s home.

Authorities say all five people in the home escaped unharmed. Randall is being held on $500,000 bail in that case. The relationship between Randall and those in the home is not clear.

Investigators have called Keila’s disappearance ‘suspicious,’ but have not said if foul play is suspected. Authorities spent several hours at the Freeman home last Wednesday, leaving with a computer and several other items.

But as to what clues they’ve uncovered, they are saying very little.

“Because it’s a very active case, there is not a lot we can release at this time,” Lt. Tony Mullins, of the Memphis Police Department, told Dateline.

While the official investigation ticks on, Keila’s family, friends and neighbors push forward on their own. Over the weekend, about 50 volunteers met in front of Keila’s home for a short vigil, before heading to pound the pavement in search of her. Messages of well-wishes are plastered across Facebook in the hope that someone, anyone, saw something that could help.

“We’re just still hoping and praying and, as a mother, we’re just still wishing Keila comes back home,” Latonya Herman, a friend and neighbor of Keila, told WMC.

Keila Freeman is described as 5’1” tall, weighing 180 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
