A police car's hood was stabbed with an eight-inch butcher's knife, authorities in Arizona said on Wednesday.

Zachary Jacobson, 20, told deputies after being arrested that he targeted the cruiser because he "hates the police" and "wanted to send a message to everyone," according to a statement from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
