A small plane crashed in an Arizona neighborhood Saturday, injuring two people on board but avoiding striking any buildings or people on the ground, officials said.
The crash in the city of Surprise, northwest of Phoenix, occurred at around 5 p.m., and the aircraft struck a greenbelt area in a community for people 55 years or older, police said.
The pilot and a passenger on the plane were taken to a local hospital, police said. NBC affiliate KPNX in Phoenix reported they have life-threatening injuries.
