Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was briefly shut down Thursday morning because of a reported security breach.

The federal Transportation Security Administration says officials shut down the central security checkpoint after the contents of a carry-on bag alarmed security guards and the owner of the bag could not be immediately found.

TSA spokesman Dwayne Baird says the passenger was located and the items in the bag were deemed safe.

Planes that had not left their gates were held from taking off during the shutdown, which lasted about an hour.
