MONTERREY, Mexico, Nov. 24, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA (Nasdaq:OMAB) (BMV:OMA), confirms the accident affecting a Mexican Air Force Antonov AN32B that occurred at 2:36 pm local time at the Monterrey International Airport.
OMA regrets the loss of life and extends its condolences to the families and friends of those aboard.
The airport's emergency response unit (CREI) and security and operations personnel are working together with the Air Force, the Civil Aviation Directorate (DGAC), and other authorities to provide assistance to the affected areas and to assist in the official investigation.
Further information on the accident will be provided by the appropriate authorities.
The airport is continuing to operate. Flights to and from the airport have not been affected, and are taking place according to each airline's schedule.
