MSNBC.com has won two 2005 Eppy Awards, one for best overall news site in its category and another for innovative storytelling.

Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek present the awards annually for the best work on media-affiliated Internet news and service sites.

MSNBC.com won awards for Best Overall Network TV/Cable Affiliated Internet Service, and for
Best Special Feature in an Internet Service Enterprise of more than 1 million users.

The special feature, titled The Big Picture: Race in America, explores today's civil rights issues, including school desegregation, affirmative action, racial profiling and gay marriage.

In a fundamental shift in storytelling, the hands-on interactive documentary allows viewers to express their opinions and challenges them to come up with solutions to civil rights issues.

The winners were announced Thursday in New Orleans.
