Five Indiana State University students in fatal car crash, three passengers dead

Just days after the start of the fall semester, Indiana State University announced it believes five of its students were involved in a deadly crash overnight. Authorities say a vehicle suddenly veered off the road in Riley, Indiana, crashed into a tree, and caught fire with the five still inside. The Vigo County sheriff says the driver and two passengers couldn’t be saved and were pronounced dead at the scene. The other two passengers escaped alive with injuries, according to authorities.
