Southwest CEO Gary Kelly said the cancellations were linked to weather-related airport ground stops in Florida last Friday. The airline and its pilots union deny suggestions that pilots caused the slowdown to protest the federal vaccine mandate, though the Southwest pilots union have asked a court to temporarily block the mandate.
