A severe thunderstorm slammed Virginia Beach's oceanfront on Thursday, injuring at least ten people and leaving two in critical condition, NBC station WAVY reported.
Officials said the damage was focused on a five-block radius, which was littered with debris and downed trees. A "mass-casualty bus" was dispatched but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening. “[The storm] came in fast loud,” Virginia Beach resident Reese Goldstein told WAVY. “It was storming really bad ... All the sudden the glass shattered on the door and then the window right next to the door blew out behind me.”
