A California woman was arrested Sunday after police say she stabbed her boyfriend to death then allegedly wrote a confession about the deadly confrontation on Facebook.

Nakasia James, 18, was taken into custody in connection with the killing of Dorian Powell, 21. James was arrested about 40 miles south of her residence in San Bernardino by police in Hemet after a tip came in about her whereabouts.

According to San Bernardino police, someone called authorities around 2:30 a.m. last Monday morning saying a man had been stabbed by his girlfriend. Responding officers pronounced Powell dead at the scene.

Later that day, a person with the same name as Nakasia James posted several status updates on Facebook, some with apparent confessions to the murder. "Just goin tell ya nw be4 I get caught," one of the posts stated. "We was really fightn and I gt the knife and stabbed him ddnt think I would hurt him BT I did he died and I'm on the run." The posts have since been deleted.

Officials with the San Bernardino Police Department say the Facebook postings are not the only thing connecting James to the killing.

"The Facebook postings are definitely a factor, but we have to be cognizant of the fact that anyone can post if they are on the account," Lt. Richard Lawhead told Dateline last week. "There is other evidence that we have that indicates she is involved."
