Fredrick Matthew Lochridge, 16, faces an open count of murder in the death of Isabella Heffernan, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office said.

Police were called Sunday morning to her home in Fountain, about 30 miles north of Panama City, when the family said she hadn’t been seen since 10 p.m. on Saturday.

An air and ground search was launched but she was found dead Sunday afternoon in a large field behind her home, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
