Live Nation -- which also owns Ticketmaster -- told NBC News that they have worked with bands to put concert tickets directly on the secondary market, and that bands know the face value is often lower than the market value, leading them to work with a middleman, like Ticketmaster, to try and recapture some of the money left on the table.
