So I can confidently say that Vitamix is one of the most premium of all kitchen brands out there, especially if you want an appliance you can be sure will last you decades to come. Fortunately, Vitamix’s popular 5200 blender is currently 45% off at Amazon, making it one of the best early Black Friday deals at the retailer. While the blender usually costs well over $500, it’s on sale for just under $300, putting it at its lowest price in six months. Below, I talk more about the blender’s features and why it’s an investment you’ll want to take with you into the new year.

The Vitamix 5200 blender has a 64-ounce (around 8 cups) capacity with a container made of BPA-free copolyester. It has stainless steel blades and more than 1,300 watts of power, which is more than enough to blend soft ingredients like yogurt, leafy greens, fruits and vegetables, and firm foods like ice and nuts. (For reference, I have a portable blender with 900 watts and it blends ice and other ingredients with little effort). You’ll also get a tamper to push ingredients down to make sure they’re evenly incorporated.
It’s suitable for cold and hot foods, so you can blend warm soups without worrying about the blender container cracking or breaking. It has 10 speed settings and a switch on the side to choose between either a high-speed blend or a variable one, which lets you customize the texture more easily. While the container isn’t dishwasher safe, you can clean it by adding a small amount of soap and water to it and rinsing it out.
