The 15-inch MacBook Air is a better fit for anyone who works with photos, videos or spreadsheets often — the extra screen real estate makes productivity easier, in my experience. While this model is only 17% off, it’s matching the best price we’ve seen.
This low-priced laptop from Asus is well-suited to basic tasks like research, watching videos and hopping on video calls. It gets up to 11 hours of battery life on a single charge, and has a physical shutter over the built-in webcam for when you’re not using it.
Chromebooks are some of the most affordable laptops you can buy, especially when they are on sale like this one. This 14-inch Acer laptop has a 1080p resolution screen and ChromeOS built-in — it’s best for using Google apps like Gmail, Google Docs, YouTube and Gemini. It’s not powerful enough for more complex work, though.
This HP laptop is a solid performer at a competitive price. It has AMD components inside that can deliver fast speeds for most basic tasks outside of more demanding creative workflows. It also has great port selection, with two USB-A, one USB-C and one HDMI port along the sides.
Similar to the Asus Vivobook, this 15-inch laptop from Dell can handle most basic tasks easily, and has a full number pad on the keyboard that’s handy for spreadsheet work. It also has multiple USB-A ports, along with an HDMI slot and a port to insert an SD card.
This two-in-one is part laptop, part tablet — it can sit upright like a traditional laptop or fold completely flat at the hinges and act as a tablet. It comes with a stylus that can neatly slot into the bottom of the laptop when you’re not using it. Plus it’s at its lowest price ever right now.
