U.S. mayors cancel meeting with Trump after Justice Department threat over immigration
Hours after the Justice Department threatened to withhold grant money to certain cities if they did not comply with immigration law, a group of U.S. mayors backed out of a scheduled meeting with President Trump. In a news conference, Mayors Mitch Landrieu (New Orleans), Rahm Emanuel (Chicago), and Eric Garcetti (Los Angeles) delivered powerful messages maintaining their stance against the White House administration.
