For first time in 50 years, FDA considering testing for asbestos in cosmetics, talc powders
This comes after trace amounts of the known carcinogen showed up in FDA testing of Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder. Trace asbestos has also been found in make-up no longer sold by the chain store Claire’s, which issued two recalls. Johnson & Johnson is disputing the tests and says its products are asbestos-free.
