El Paso doctor on treating shooting victims: ‘It’s a challenge’
NBC News’ Simone Boyce talked to Dr. Stephen Flaherty, the director of trauma at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, to see how doctors and staff deal with treating victims of mass shootings. Flaherty speaks about a program called “Stop the Bleed,” that is teaching people without medical training how to stop massive bleeding at the scene of an injury so that more people can be saved before they get to the hospital.
